MIS holds Career Fest 2020
Manado Independent School (MIS) triumphantly held a Career Fest on Thursday, October 22, 2020. This career fest program is annually conducted to facilitate and provide proper information about important issues that are necessary in pursuing higher education --- particularly what university to choose from among well-known favorite universities that offer high quality education. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, MIS successfully hosts the 7th MIS Career Fest 2020 virtually through Google Meet.
Free and open to the public, the 7th MIS Career Fest continues to be flooded with worldwide public and private universities that have the best quality education. Students who participated in the MIS Career Fest are required to register at the school website www.mis-mdo.sch.id, use an MIS account while the guests use a gmail address, before filling out the data form shown in mentioned website. After the successful entry, the names and logos of the universities are displayed on the website page, then students just choose the name of the university they want to get information related to registration.
A total of 47 private and public universities around the world have participated in this activity such as James Cock University, International Medical University (IMU), Amity University, Kaplan University, Singapore Institute of Management, Sunway University, Xiamen University Malaysia, Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation, Edmonds College, International College of Management Sydney (ICMS), Kings College UK, PSB Academy Singapore, Xi'an Jiatong - Liverpool University, International Business School (IBS), Niagara College Canada, Trent University, University of Victoria, Binus University, Binus University International, Canadian Education International, Ciputra School of Business, Monash University, Griffith University Queensland Australia, Indonesia International Institute for Life Science (I3L), Jakarta International College, Monash College, Western Michigan University, LaSalle College, Osaka International School of Culture and Language (OBKG), Le Cordon Bleu New Zealand, University Parahyangan Catholic, Podomoro University, President University, Raffles Jakarta Desi gn Institution, Ritsumeikan University, Sampoerna University, A-La-Carte hospitality and business education, Swiss Germany University (SGU), Tokyo International University, Maranatha Christian University, Petra Christian University, Multimedia Nusantara University, Pelita Harapan University (UPH), Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, Tarumanagara University, University of Tasmania Australia, University of Bristol.
Offers and promotions are provided by these universities such as their campus profiles, courses, specialization in studies, requirements for application, and scholarship opportunities. It should be noted that students can still access the information and videos from each university on the MIS Website for six months. Moreover, the attendees who were present in the said activity were provided with mobile phone data during the door prize session as an appreciation for their active involvement.
The enthusiasm of the 12th grade high school students was so evident even though this event was launched online. Parents of students were also free to join this program. Cianando Pautrisio Cendranadi, a grade 12 science student at SMA MIS participated actively in this activity. According to Cianando, this MIS Career Fest activity is one of the best programs for the senior class because it is very helpful in guiding or directing students to which university they will continue their education "By joining the career fest, the benefits that we can get is as much information as we need about the universities which lead to a better decision for the next chapter of our lives, "he said.
Cianando, who plans to major in engineering later in college, added that he had an extraordinary experience through the MIS Career Fest because all representatives from each university were very easy to ask about information related to registration. In the closing of the 7th MIS Career Fest on Friday, 23 October 2020; Principal of SMA MIS, Vijaya Kollabathula, Ph.D, expressed his appreciation to all senior MIS high school students, guests from nearby schools and representatives of universities worldwide who had participated in the success of the activity, "Amazing, even though it was held virtually but our positive response get from all participants ”. Vijay admitted, MIS Career Fest is a form of care and important attention from schools to the career development of students in college. For this reason, we help these senior students to obtain and select scholarships offered by each university that participated in this activity.
